NOTES FROM NURSE ALLISON

(NORWOOD, EdD, RNC, MSN, EdD)

We are beginning a new component in the Wholeness Expression that focuses on body, mind, and spirit resources. According to the American Nurses Association (2012), my responsibilities as a congregational/faith-based nurse is "...the specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as part of the process of promoting holistic health”.

As a member of Community of Christ Health Ministry Association, our mission statement is “promote wholeness of body, mind, and spirit.” Becoming whole is all about the journey in focusing on the alignment of the body, mind, and spirit as we regain our health.

This section of the Wholeness Expression will focus on these areas and I will provide resources for everyone. I will be using the recommended sites to maintain accountability as a registered nurse. I know that there are many ways to obtain wholeness and good health and I hope to provide a way to get started, or maintain where you are.

As I am not a nurse practitioner, I will only be providing education for you through the website and newsletter. During camps I would like to set up blood pressure clinics and screenings. I look forward to working with us (myself included) to improve our physical bodies, mental health, and spiritual focus to help us gain balance as we serve Christ.
